If you haven’t already, take the time to prep your home with everyday necessities: food, medicine, hygiene products, cleaners, etc. There’s no need to hoard loads of items in bulk. Buy what you need and save some for others. That said, don’t be so quick to judge someone purchasing more than you; they could be shopping for an elderly neighbor or parent, so let’s all remember to be kind and keep our community in mind. Below, we’re breaking down a simple checklist to make your next grocery store trip as speedy and efficient as possible.

Strategy tip: to best preserve what you buy and make it last the longest, eat the food in this order. Start with fresh veggies and produce, then frozen food, and lastly pantry items.
*If an item has a WIC symbol next to the price, buy something else (if you’re able to). Those who use WIC to feed their children can’t switch to other brands.
Medicine/miscellaneous:
Tylenol
Cough syrup of your choosing
A home disinfectant to clean surfaces daily
Toilet paper (remember to leave some for others)
Kleenex
Hand soap
Keep your filtered water pitcher full, and be sure to stay hydrated.
